Apple recently unveiled a powerful new Mac Studio desktop and a $ 1,600 Studio monitor that reviewers have praised – with the exception of the disappointing performance of the integrated webcam. Apple has a software fix on its way, but it is unclear when it will arrive Input reported Thursday.
Reviews from Borderland and Wall Street Journal regretted that the integrated webcam captured images with grain and noise, especially in low light. Apple has admitted to The Verge that “the system is not waving as expected” and that it will make improvements to the software update, although it is unclear when this will happen.
The disappointing performance of the 12MP webcam is somewhat of a surprise considering how good selfies and FaceTime calls were on iPhones and iPads with similarly sharp front cameras. In addition to the webcam, the Studio display includes the A13 Bionic chipset that made its debut in the iPhone 11, essentially supercharging a simple computer screen with the brain of a smartphone.
