There are plenty of online games to choose from – whether or not you’re a fan of old school favorites, party games
escape rooms or exciting there is probably a virtual option. Here are some of the best online games you can play with your friends, no matter what type of experience you’re looking for. We will update this list regularly.
Jackbox Games is the holy grail of social remote gaming for us: the multiplayer party games are easy to learn but still very fun, and it’s also easy to stream or share your screen from one device to a group for a virtual night game. They all play through a web browser on their phones, so no apps or consoles are needed. You can even mirror your android or iOS device to TV.
Here’s how the Jackbox Party Pack works: One person has to buy one out of seven Jackbox Party Packagesor one or more individual Steam games (for PC, Mac and Linux). Packs come with five games and usually cost $ 30 each, but can sometimes be found on sale for less. The bundles are also available for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and other devices.
After purchase, you can jump into video chat via a Magnification call, Skype, Google Meetings or wherever you prefer a video call, launch the game on a laptop and use the screen sharing option so all other players can see the screen as well. As mentioned, everyone is playing on their mobile device using the browser and going to Jackbox.tvwhere you will be asked to enter the room code.
Other options include using Steam Remote Play Together, sharing your Discord screen, sharing via a game console, or simply positioning your webcam in front of your TV. Jackbox provides information on how to stream your gamesalso.
Each pack contains many different games that may require you to answer trivia questions, draw strange doodles or write your best joke. The games are light, humorous, and come with clear instructions that will make it easy for most novice players to pick them up. But if you like a little more complexity, this year’s Jackbox Party Pack 8 includes games that involve social deduction and clue hiding.
If you’re a fan of games like Mafia or Werewolf, you’ll love it Among us, an online multiplayer online social game from developer InnerSloth. Play as a crew member aboard a spacecraft, headquarters or planetary base as you try to keep your ship together and return to Earth with a group of four to ten people (either those you know IRL or strangers online). But one crew member has been replaced by a parasitic, shape-shifting alien who wants to eliminate the rest of the crew before the ship reaches home. The problem is that the cheater looks the same as everyone else and sabotages the ship, sneaks through the vents, cheats other players and tries to frame others, all while trying to stay undetected and kill the rest of the crew.
Meanwhile, non-alien crew members must perform tasks to repair the ship and are not allowed to talk until a death is reported. The surviving crew can then openly chat who they think is a cheat and how best to guess who to vote for the ship. If the cheater is disqualified, the crew wins. But if the group accidentally dismisses a crew member, they all go back to the ship’s maintenance until another body is found, and vote again.
Among Us is free on iOS and Android devices (you can download it on Application Store or Google Play Store). Or the game on PC costs $ 5 (you can download it on) Steam or itching.io). One of the main benefits is that you can play seamlessly with people on different platforms.
Be alerted: The free mobile version comes with ads. When you download the game and open it on your device, you’ll see a popup with AdMob usage and data collection information. If you want to disable ads and data collection, you can purchase the ad-free version of the app for $ 2 by tapping Remove Ads and following the prompts to choose your payment method.
Although this game came out over three years ago, Twitch streamers picked it up over the past year and it has made it half a billion monthly active users in November 2020. And if you’ve already tried, the developers added new player roles and cosmetics last month.

Pokemon Unite takes the classics Pokemons formula and remixes it as multiplayer online battle arenaas well as Dota 2 and League of Legends. Players control Pokemon and are tasked with fighting wild and opponent-controlled Pokemon to gain experience and Unite points. The two lanes, at the top and bottom of the map, are punctuated by hoop-like targets for each team where players can deposit their Unite Points to score.
Unite is a great game to play with friends as it simplifies traditional MOBA elements making it easier for beginners to jump into the game. And for Pokemon fans, Unite still retains a lot of its familiar gameplay – leveling up, evolving, learning new moves, and using items for a tactical advantage. The game has been downloaded 50 million times since December.
Five-on-five battles in Unite are all about teamwork, so it’s most fun to play together with a friend or four. Do you have a group of five people? Join forces as a full squad and coordinate your attacks. Do you have a couple of friends who want to come in? You can join forces as the original starters, Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise. Only one friend? Become the dominant duo in your lane by combining offensive firepower with defensive stamina.
Each Pokemon has its own style, strengths and weaknesses, allowing players to find the character that suits them best. Create a well-knit team to chart the path to victory, or have fun playing your favorites – the choice is yours.
